Why use a collection agency

Profit margins are narrowing while costs are skyrocketing. Every penny counts, so practices are able to save time, money and aggravation by using a third party. Debtors will often pay a collection agency even though they never cooperated with the original creditor, mainly because collection agencies typically increase the psychological anxiety associated with a debt. The debtor will understand that the creditor is serious about collecting their money. Also, many debtors are wary of the impact that a collection account can have on their credit rating.

Are there minimums or maximums

There is no minimum or maximum for collection amounts. Core Collection Company will pursue each and every claim with the same fervor no matter the dollar amount.

Does your company any up front fees

No. In fact, since our fees are generated solely upon collections, you don't pay unless we collect.

How do I know the status of my accounts

Monthly status reports are mailed, e-mailed, or faxed with payment information attached.

How important is the age of a debt

The age of a delinquent account is one of the biggest factors in determining whether or not a debt gets paid. The older the debt, the harder it is to collect. Research on the collectability of delinquent accounts clearly shows that the most advantageous time to enlist the services of a collection agency is within 60-90 days of the invoice due date. Incorporating this strategy will help ensure maximum recoveries with the least cost to your company.

What is "skip tracing"

Skip tracing is the process of locating contact information on your debtor, such as a current or alternate address and telephone number, and can include obtaining a person's place of employment, names and addresses of family members, friends, or ex-spouses, locating assets such as property, bank accounts, or automobiles, finding relatives' telephone numbers, and much more.

What is the usual approach that other collection agencies use

With many collection agencies, you simply get a "one-size-fits-all" collection approach to your debtor that most often yields very poor results. Typically, collection agencies will simply mail a series of generic "fill-in-the-blank" collection letters to your debtor's last known address. These agencies will NOT customize their letters to your debtor, will NOT spend any time or money on skip tracing (unless the account balance is very high), will NOT go so far as to locate family members, assets, business affiliations, etc., will NOT invest in informational sources or databases, and will NOT give all your accounts the time and effort deserved.
